In a nutshell, the governing documents say the association is responsible to maintain limited common elements on the outside, and elsewhere says the homeowners are responsible to maintain their own decks. This was considered a contradiction previously. Per the association’s attorney, it is not a conflict. It’s a clarification. While the association is otherwise generally responsible for exterior components, the exception is the decks, for which homeowners are responsible for.
